Kristen Hartford, DVM

Medical Director

Dr. Hartford received her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and went on to graduate with her Doctorate degree from Ross University. While attending Texas A&M University she worked in the Junior Surgery Lab of Texas A&M’s small animal teaching hospital. After graduating she worked as a technician in the Texas A&M small animal ICU before starting veterinary school. Dr. Hartford currently lives in Houston with her husband and their 3 Australian Cattle dogs. For fun Dr. Hartford likes to cook and spend time outdoors.

Sarah Neaderhouser, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Neaderhouser started with us in February 2016. After growing up between College Station and Katy, she attended undergraduate and graduate school at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. She returned to Texas A&M and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Since graduation she has practiced in general, emergency, and exotic veterinary medicine in the Houston and Katy areas. Dr. Neaderhouser moved to Magnolia in 2004 where she lives with her family and a menagerie that currently includes 3 dogs, 3 cats, numerous fish and an Amazon parrot. If not working with animals, she can be found with kids, immersed in music, books or working outside

Susan

Practice Manager

Susan is our practice manager. She has been with Shady Brook Animal Hospital since our doors opened in May 2004. You may not see her but she keeps the place running as smooth as silk. Susan was a finance coordinator for David Weekly Homes for 10 years. She lives in Magnolia with her three children, two dogs, two ferrets and Simon the sugar glider. She likes to take the family, including dogs, camping and to the beach as much as she can.

Dana

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Dana received her degree in Veterinary Technology from Tomball College in 1993. She has 20+ years of technical and management experience. Dana is our lead Registered Veterinary Technician and she rocks. Can we clone her??? She, her husband, and three daughters live in Magnolia with 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a ferret. Dana is a member of the TVMA (Texas Veterinary Medical Association) and TARVT (Texas Association of Registered Veterinary Technicians).

Mike

Certified Veterinary Assistant II

Mike started with us in 2013 and also a CVA II. He has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years. He lives in Magnolia with his 2 dogs (Jaxson and Potter) and 3 cats (Wolverine, Bailey and Gardenia). When Mike is not working he loves to do anything outdoors. He is a native Texan so he loves the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans!

Morgan

Certified Veterinary Assistant I

Morgan has been with us since May of 2013. She is a Certified Veterinary Assistant. Morgan has been a veterinary technician for 9 years. She lives in Navasota with her husband and daughter. She has 5 dogs, 1 cat, 3 horses and a mini donkey. In her spare time Morgan loves spending time with family, training her horses and going to barrel races as much as possible.

Kathy

Certified Veterinary Assistant

Kathy has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years. She joined the Shady Brook team in December of 2017. Kathy received her CVA in December of 2018. She is a graduate of Texas Tech University. Kathy with her husband and 2 sons have lived in the Magnolia area since 1999. She shares her house with 4 dogs and 2 cats. Kathy loves attending her sons football games and fishing.

Shannon

Client Relations Specialist

Shannon joined our client relations team in February of 2014 bringing with her over 7 years of veterinary reception experience, a sincere compassion for animals and finely tuned belly scratching skills. Although she loves all animals, large and small, her passion is for the hairless breeds. She and her son currently share their home with two American Hairless Terriers and a Hairless Chinese Crested.
